A life, reforged
Marcus walked in cold.
Eighteen, expelled, a court date looming, and nobody in his corner.
His mentor, Dré, did not lecture him. He just kept showing up — every Thursday, no exceptions. Six months in,
Marcus enrolled in our welding lab. Eighteen months in, he was certified and on a job site. Today he mentors two
younger guys from his old block and still meets Dré for coffee.
"Nobody ever told me I could be useful. Forge didn't hand me anything. They handed me a hammer and stood next to me while I learned to swing it."
